Background:

The Kirkpatrick Model recognized as the standard in training and learning programs evaluation. Created by Donald Patrick in 1959, and then updated in 1975 and 1993, the model can help instructional designers understand and quantify how effective their courses are. The Kirkpatrick model is divided into four levels which is often visualized using a pyramid. It can be used to assess formal and informal training methods and looks at four criteria levels: reaction, behavior, learning, and results.

The Kirkpatrick Model of Evaluation

In a complex training course, a plan is required to ensure that all learning goals are fully explained, all stakeholders are defined, the full program and it’s context are described, and all evaluations are fully thought out.

Solution:

This thirteen (13) page Comprehensive Evaluation Plan walks through not only all four levels of the Kirkpatrick Evaluation model but also details the stakeholders, all learning goals, and the program context. It then details the entire evaluation from beginning to end.

Results:

This document could be used as a template for future evaluation plans as it is an easy step through of the entire process.
